Easy shabby chic fabric bracelet

This may be my favorite party favor activity yet.

At my daughter’s birthday, the girls made these easy peasy fabric bangles.

Best part? The craft didn’t cost me a dime. Someone had given me a bunch of cool remnant fabric. And I used old coat hangers that I cut down to child wrist size.

For a larger group, I’d use floral wire for easier cutting and bending. The hangers I chose were coated, which made them sturdy, but harder to bend and clasp.

Following these instructions at creme de la craft, the craft went like this…

Using wire cutters, I cut strips of coat hanger large enough to fit a small wrist with a clasp.

Next, I bent each wire and connected them with metal loops that I folded tightly shut with pliers.

I rough cut about one-inch strips of fabric (a little more than a yard in length).

The girls then tied the fabric over the clasp, leaving a little trail at the end. The rest of the fabric was then looped around the bangle and tied off at the end. We used scissors to cut off the remaining fabric.

The girls made a bunch of these, then decided to use the rest of the fabric for Project Runway with their stuffed animals. Super cute and loads of fun.
