Banished: Our NY Times 'A Moment in Time' Submission

At 10 a.m. Central Time, sharp…or pretty close to sharp anyway…we headed to the garage where our guinea pig Fluffy has taken up what we hope is temporary residence, per orders of the iFarmer’s allergist.

It was time for a visit, but we also wanted to capture the moment on camera as part of the New York Times’ “A Moment in Time” project.

Here’s the pic I submitted:

 This was my second choice:

It’s a long shot that this banishment is temporary, so I’ve started researching outside accommodations. Until we found ourselves in this situation, I had no idea that guinea pigs can be housed in hutches, just like rabbits. I’ve already scouted out a place in the backyard for him.

  1. This can't be an easy choice to make. We know all about having allergies and asthma at our house. I had a thought about a new home for the guinea pig. What about ffg's or ffb's classroom?

  2. No. I think we're going to keep him. He's happy so long as he has lots of food a place to hide. I like the hutch idea. I just have to find one.Now we have to figure out what to do with the gecko. We think we have a temporary home, but there's no way he could live in the garage.
