There are now more than 100,000 members of the group, “Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!”
It’s disturbing that Facebook officials are removing breastfeeding shots.
Good gracious. What could be more natural than feeding your child the way God intended?
I joined, though it’s been a couple years since I’ve been a member of the nursing set. Back then, Americans seemed to finally be coming around. Though it was still pretty novel that I was a working mom who wanted to nurse both kids until they were able to drink whole milk.
I’m proud that I was able to pump while typing and talking on the phone. Now that’s multitasking.
I hope Facebook comes around. Maybe they need a few nursing moms on the obscenity review team.
It really is still an issue that irks a lot of people. I’m not too sure why, but in today’s PC society I’m seriously worried that once granted the ability to put it all ‘out there’, many women will also want to maintain their privacy. That would infringe on the freedoms of others.Further, I bet women may be slightly irked if college kids, citizen journalists and even video artists want to capture this newly public act on film and then share it with the world online.Just a prediction.Good post.

I think women who want to maintain their privacy won’t be out there feeding in public. But I can tell you that the times I did, it was out of necessity. My kid was hungry and there was no other clean place. I also think it would be impossible for anyone to see any nipple without being on top of me. I’m was a master in the art of pashmina nursing.
