Why Spend $$ on a Fancy Air Hockey Table When…

…you have a cardboard box, some duct tape, Lincoln Log sticks and a Mason jar lid?

Future Farmboy came up with this make-shift hockey set. I thought he did a great job.

  1. Kudos Future Farm Boy. Very creative. I only bought our air hockey table because it was as close to stealing it from Sam’s Club as you can get it without being put in jail. Super low clearance shopping just like I like it. Wish I would have put on my thinking cap instead. I was blindsided by the clearance tag. My boys would rather play with a cardbox too… I guess I’ll learn my lesson.

  2. OMG. If I had your space, I’d have that fancy air hockey table you got for that awesome price plus a ping pong table. I’m still trying to figure out how to make that work in our tiny house. FFB loves your hockey table…which is why I’m sure he’s coming up with his own version. But, it never fails to amaze me that the most popular gifts at Christmas are 50 cent wooden airplanes powered by rubber bands.

  3. The air hockey table was actually a toy for an overgrown boy namely my dear husband. He always loved to play at the dreaded Chuck E Cheese and so when I could get such a deal on a version that would not break Troy’s back or my bank, I was thrilled. My sons too, have great imaginations and are pleased by the simplest things. Right now their greatest joy is using the space under my laundry room desk as a clubhouse complete with baby quilt carpeting, and empty soft drink case walls. They also have decorated with their small toys. They ask for the fancy toys but they end up playing with the box it came in. As for the ping pong table, I have always wanted one. I keep thinking that I will get one on the cheap like at a garage sale or inherit one from somebody. Of course I really don’t need one because it would likely only get covered in junk. Though the air hockey table has avoided getting cluttered except for the time we used it to house “robot parts” (recycling items) for Carson’s birthday party.
