Here we are at the Obama rally in Grant Park.

We didn’t stay the whole time, just until the kids started getting sleepy and the crowds oppressive.
What a night. We’re glad we made it.

Yes. Thanks Chase for the extra push. We had a great time and compromised by not keeping the kids out too late. My son was particularly thrilled to be there considering Obama also won his elementary school’s vote on Nov. 4.

The highlight of the evening for me was watching the motorcade roll in even as we were leaving. Line after line of police car, weaving down through the Loop, across Randolph and into Grant Park. The sea of supporters some knew, some didn’t, that Ohio had just been won, making victory inevitable. Looking at each other, grasping the hands of our children, and realizing that that was President elect Obama arriving in our city. There just are no words. And I’m glad we were all there to experience it together.
