The first was while the iFarmer and I were eating a fantastic meal of perfectly cooked breaded pork tenderloin (me) and liver and onions (him).
Imagine our delight when Ms. Indiana walked in and was seated near us at the historic Hob Nob Corner Restaurant. So much fun.
Then, the next day, we had the pleasure of visiting with one of the iFarmer’s cousins, Ross Barbour, who was in Central Indiana beginning Thursday for a Four Freshman 60th Anniversary reunion and show. The occasion even made the Wall Street Journal.
Of course I missed one of the best parts of the day, when Ross sang his personalized rendition of “Back Home Again in Indiana.”
I was busy at the van loading a significant amount of leftovers being handed to me by other cousins who feared having to load every comfort food known to man into their own refrigerators.
In addition to the celebrity sightings, we had a fantastic weekend. Great family time all around. It’s amazing I didn’t gain back all the weight I lost plus some.
The Barbour family, many of them in from California, were treated to a visit to their old family homestead. The current owners were so gracious, that in addition to a tour of the grounds, they sent them to our reunion with loads of the best sweet corn I’ve had all summer, a bushel of tomatoes and, literally, a truckload of melons.
I love farmer hospitality.
Love the pic of your nephew in the tractor wheel! Sweet pic of your kids in the field together too.
