I posted over the weekend about TulipMania coming in a couple weeks to the Garfield Park Conservatory.
But there’s another event at the century-old conservatory this week that’s a must attend for beer lovers, especially hopheads, who have a special appreciation for local brews and foods.
On May 13 – this Thursday – seven breweries from the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild will bring samples for those attending the conservatory’s “Beer Under Glass” event.
The breweries participating in the fundraiser are:
- Argus Brewery
- Goose Island Beer Co.
- Half Acre Beer Co.
- Hamburger Mary’s
- Metropolitan Brewing
- Rock Bottom Chicago
- Two Brothers Brewing Company
There are more details over at the Chicago Park District and Growing in Chicago, where author Beth Botts writes, that craft beer lovers “will be able to discern subtle differences that no doubt can be disputed at length while strolling among the sansevierias and agaves or (if the weather is kind) checking out the view from the bridge over the lily pond outdoors.”
