Before heading out for the day, we were a whirlwind of activity at home. First order of business was clearing out the end of season leaves to let my lilies and tulips through and to clean out my veggie garden.
I’m clearly going to have to add some soil to my garden and probably do some fertilizing…which, of course, made me wonder why in the world we haven’t started composting yet.
I plan to rectify that shortly. But good gracious. The consumer choices for backyard composting equipment fill pages on Amazon.com and all sorts of gardening and kitchen sites. I’m leaning toward the piece pictured, from Amazon.com. I like that it tumbles, which cuts down on the manual labor involved in turning the degrading matter as needed. I’m going to do a bit more research before ordering. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I’ve settled on one thing. I will buy an attractive, odorless compost pail no matter what outdoor solution we choose. My cousin has a cobalt blue version of this ceramic pail. I think I may like white best for my kitchen.
