I added a quick poll at the top of VFG asking you to pick your favorite pie after posting yesterday about the effort to make Hoosier Sugar Cream the Official Pie of Indiana.
Turns out that very few states — just two — have locked in on a single dessert.
No surprise that in Florida, the state pie, by legislative act, is Key Lime. The only other state to formally ID an official state pie is Vermont, which in 1999 adopted apple as its favorite, according to the Indianapolis Star.
In Michigan, I could imagine there would be a battle over blueberry, cherry and apple…all fruit crops in the state.

Hmmm…I keep forgetting that…maybe because I don’t have a mixer and haven’t mastered the art of the merengue. May have to give that a try though.

Some housekeeping…on Twitter, @gardengoose added pecan pie, which I should have included in the poll. Though she’s a Florida gal and Florida already picked key lime.And @fallentimbers added mud pie for New Hampshire. On Facebook, Urban Dweller picked anything at Baker’s Square.
