After I came home from work today, I sat down with the iFarmer to check out the features of our new AT&T U-verse.
[Despite the misrepresentations of the three, yes it took three, in-person sales folks, we are now set up pretty much with what we were told we would get (a week later).]
We can now display slideshows on our TV, via a private flickr account. The shots are still pretty pixelated, even though we uploaded high-res versions. But I can see doing some sort of slideshow of The Farm at our next tree-trimming party.
We also finally have HD. Love it. Love it. Love it. Our first show was Tyler’s Ultimate on the Food Network. Tyler made his ultimate lasagna. I happen to be heavily influenced by images, especially when I’m hungry. So we decided to make a version of Tyler’s recipe tonight.
It’s a sinfully rich recipe…complete with buckets of cheese, whole cream and a hint of cinnamon. I know. Right? But it smells fantastic while it bakes for a solid hour.
I altered the recipe a bit to hide some extra farmers market and CSA fresh veggies for the kids, namely zucchini. And I think I used more cream and less wine. It’s hard to tell because I somewhat doubled the recipe so I could bring a four-layer tray over to a new mom and her family.
We served our tray with fresh bread topped with some Shrooms Kitchen specialty 5 Cheese & Garlic Spread; zucchini sauteed with garlic and red pepper flakes; and a Chateau de Leelanau 2004 Pinot Noir (very smooth, but not quite worth the price tag).
Again, I’m stuffed. No room for dessert.
YUM! Usually my neighbor brings over loads of Zucchini, but this year we didn’t get any. I’m always looking for ways to use it. I’m also a farm-girl in an urban setting. I’ve never lived out of an urban area, but my dream is to have a small organic farm, with sheep which I only raise for thier wool, and a bunch of chickens! (Right now, I’m settling for an organic garden and chickens)
