Mich. Wine Update

Just a quick note to give a Roger Ebert “Thumbs Up” to Leelanau Wine Cellars Autumn Harvest, smooth, dry red.

The cherry and currant undertones make it smell sweet. But it’s not. Simply a nice dinner wine. And the price was right. I think we spent about five bucks for the bottle.

The winery has a long history, in terms of wineries, in Michigan. The Jacobson family has been growing wine grapes in the fertile, even-temperatured northern Michigan since the 1970s.

It wouldn’t be a local purchase for us, except that we happened to be in the area. We picked it up on our Michigan vacation.
