The local paper, the Marion Chronicle-Tribune, gave props to the Hoosier Outsider in a short bright recently.
The story profiles the Hoosier Outsider’s longtime photography “hobby.”
This is my favorite quote:
“It’s taking me a long time to start looking back at what I’ve shot,” he said. “With film, if I took 1,000 pictures a year, that represented a lot of work. Now I shoot 10,000 shots a year and I hardly have time to look at them. With digital, there’s never any reason not to take the picture.”
Now, of course, after writing the header for this post, I can’t help but sing Paul Simon’s song, “Kodachrome.”
The iFarmer couldn’t stop humming either. He found this great audio/slideshow on YouTube.
Here’s the only line I don’t agree with, even though it fits nicely in the song: “And everything looks worse in black and white.”
Some of my best and certainly some of Hoosier Outsider’s best shots are black & white.
Just read the newspaper article and went to see his photos.I enjoy knowing how an artist’s life experience is woven together to bring their creative flair into focus.I love knowing how each one of the people in his life influenced him and yet they most likely had no idea at the time.Fostering creativity and nurturing it is a wonderful gift to our children. Thanks for encouraging my children and being there for them in 4H and school.
