I’ve been pretty busy this week, but I wanted to share this cute story from the Brainerd Dispatch about a 19-year-old Minnesota farmgirl whose plan is to take over her family’s dairy farm.
Ashley Hyovalti, who was home schooled, has apparently known she wanted to run the farm since she was 13.
The farm has grown with her, from 80 acres to 320 with an additional 200 or so leased.
She’s quoted saying:
“You never stay in the farm business for the money. It’s a lifestyle and lots of hard work.”
Not a lot of depth in the piece, but an interesting read.
God knows I had no idea what I would be doing for a living at 19.
She sounds like a very hard working girl. There is not very many girls who will work that hard and would want to do something like that. She sounds very interesting and i an sure their is a lot of guys out there just waiting for someone like her,

I think this world could use more girls like her. I am eventually going to take over my family’s farm in Stephen, Minnesota, and I’m not going to say all, but most of the girls in my area aren’t one bit interested in the farming lifestyle.
